Question: What is the purpose of the establishment of Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation(PGSHF)?

Answer: The purpose of the Foundation is to provide houses or plots on no profit no loss basis to the Government servants on their retirement or to their families in case of death during service.

Question: Is PGSHF is an institution of Punjab Government or an institution of mutual cooperation of Government employees?

Answer: Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation (PGSHF) was established as body corporate under the Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation Act, 2004, promulgated on 10.03.2004, to introduce a scheme for providing houses or plots on no profit no loss basis to Government Servants on their retirement or to their families in case of death during service.

Question: Who is responsible for the affairs of Housing Foundation in Punjab Government?

Answer: Foundation is a subordinate dependent institute of S&GAD. A Board under the Chief Secretary Punjab has been devised to look after the affairs of the Foundation. The Managing Director is the Chief Executive of the Foundation.

Question: How one can become the member of Housing Foundation?

Answer: A Government servant may become member of the Foundation after submitting prescribed Form of the Housing Foundation within prescribed time period. One time membership was opened from 26.07.2004 to 28.02.2005 and thereafter, new membership was closed.

Question: What are the conditions for being a member of Housing Foundation?

Answer: All permanent Punjab Government employees are entitled to become member of the Foundation.

Question: To whom will Housing Foundation allot houses/plots?

Answer: The Housing Foundation will allocate houses or plots to the member Govt. servants or to their families as per entitlement seniority.

Question: How is Entitlement Seniority list prepared / calculated?

Answer: The Entitlement Seniority list is prepared on the basis of date of retirement or death or superannuation and priority of the district or station for each category of members.

Question: To whom will be allotted deceased member's house/plot?

Answer: Deceased member's house/plot will be allotted to the family of the deceased member.

Question: Will the Foundation construct flats or houses for the employees?

Answer: The Foundation will construct houses for member Govt. servants, subject to options by the members..

Question: What will be the area of allotted house/plot?

Answer: Houses/plots will be allotted to the members of the Foundation according to their retirement grade as per following schedule.

Question: Shall I have to deposit monthly subscription directly to Foundation?

Answer: Monthly subscription will be deducted from the salary of the member as per the scale/grade given below. The record of this monthly deduction will be reflected either on your pay bill or pay slip.

You can contribute more than this minimum amount and are advised to do so, so that there is minimum financial burden at the time of delivery of house/plot when full cost has to be paid. Retired members are also advised to continue paying through Bank Draft / Pay Order in the name of Punjab Government Servants Housing Fund.
